In the midst of all the incidents of racist crimes against black people, I felt powerless in terms of being able to help and support the Black Lives Matter movement. We had donated money to support the cause but didn’t feel comfortable attending protests because of the risk of contracting COVID-19.
Initially, we had the unique idea of creating a medium through which people could post their donation matching offers, perform transactions, and track progress to reaching the final goal. However, after realizing it was not feasible to create something including all these features over a weekend’s short time, I decided to quickly put together a website compiling tweets by people who have offered to match donations with receipt pictures for confirmation of the transaction.
Do you have any requests from the community?
Feedback would be great and if anyone has any suggestions, that would be awesome! More than anything, I want to see people donating and completing matching goals.
