Rights-Hub

Can you describe your app?

I had the amazing opportunity to work with 150+ tech professionals as part of the NYC Coders’ Hackathon for ‘Black Lives Matter’.

My team’s project –¬†Rights-Hub [NY] – is a platform to educate the public about incidents of death from police in New York via data¬†visualizations, and also inform them of their rights as citizens.

Contributors to this project are Nicole Banta, Philip Smalls, Kevin Wang, and tech shadowed by Will Bainton.

Do you have requests from the community?

I’d appreciate feedback about how we could improve this project both technically and in terms of accessibility/awareness.

More details about the project are available at the Git Repo: https://github.com/hackforblacklivesmatter-5-1/rightshub

About the Engineer

I am an experienced start-up founder with a focus on software engineering and product management. I left my role at Apple to start my own company in 2015 and develop an LGBT+ dating/social app just for men – The Bro App (www.BroApp.com). With over 1,000,000 downloads, I always strive to improve the app and my own skill-set.

I signed up for NYC Coder’s Hackathon for Black Lives Matter to bring positive change / social impact to the movement.
